Killer Shot, Dariusz! Thank you for your postings of some of the most classic steamers ever made. BTW, between 611 and 4449, have there ever been any better looking and running engines. Call me biased, but nothing non-US can compare in my eyes.

Neat shot, interesting that there are no other engines in the round house, maybe the turntable was in use only for the N&W engines that needed to be turned.

looks like the J barely fits on that turntable, the longer articulateds which dominated N&W's through freights by then wouldn't have fit at all, so maybe they were serviced at a different roundhouse.

Norfolk Southern's going to start rebuilding this steam locomotive next week.
