Steams something's missing here! Nice shot, none-the-less, Kevin!

Beautiful photo. It was always interesting to be standing at the base and be able to trace the trains in action along the mountainside by looking for their black plume (of which 99.9% was composed of inert material that quickly dropped to the ground). But either by steam or biodiesel, the ride is a thrill. My favorite story from our guide was how workers in the early days used a wooden "slide board" to quickly descend from the peak instead of catching a ride down. The worker placed what looked like an old sled on the track and controlled the speed by a handbrake. After a few fatalities from reaching upward of 70 mph, the company put a stop to it. The record of over 70 mph was set by a female, and there are a memorials to those who died via this mode of descent.
