I noticed the abandoned catenary poles between the Potomac Yard and Union Station when I rode the Carolinian from Raleigh to Philadelphia recently. I'm a fan of electric locomotives and it would have been nice to see catenary go all the way down to Florida. Don't think that will ever happen though!
