David - are the 3 tracks where the slug set is pictured L&N and Coast Line (2 L&N to the left and SCL on the right)? Or, is the Coast Line track over on the far right in the weeds (on what looks, possibly, to be the Shop Lead)? This is a fascinating angle that I've never seen before

Wonderful photo, Mr. Harris. I still miss the days of seeing the yellow and gray L&N passing through Winchester, KY. You have been sharing some great photos.

Bernie, I never knew for sure who owned what around Union Station. I think I remember Larry Goolsby answering this question either in a short article or photo caption or something, but don't recall where I saw it.

I think far track may have been ACL, with station lead and connection to the small yard at their freight house. After ACL/SCL moved into L&N's yard and abandoned their big yard, the only traffic on the ACL line was to the little yard, with passenger trains crossing over to L&N at Bell Street. Of the other three tracks, I'd guess 2 were L&N, and the other was WofA. The problem is, that leaves out GM&O, which had a freight house beyond ACL's, right beside L&N's. WofA frthse was over near new baseball park. Don't know where SAL's was. I think all those functions got transferred to the ex-ACL building where Advertiser building is now. Lot of this is guesswork...
