I don't think the ES44AC has a 7 FDL-16 Engine. Nice shot though.

That's also not an ES44AC or ES44DC, it's an ES40DC. And, no, the Evolution series units don't have 7FDL-16's, those were phased out in the pre-evolution era. The new units don't have 16 cylinders, only 12. The prime mover is just called the GEVO now. And CSX's ES44AC's are all now ES44AH's, even the ones delivered originally (700-800 series numbers) without the AH specifications.

Donovan, Thanks for the info on the prime mover on the Evolution series. Now I have to say the ES44AH are AC per-say, the interest aspect on the CSX AH or AC series is the super duty trucks which weight is about 1,000 or 1,500 pound heavier than the standard GE trucks I think, but either or you can call it a AH or AC, but i appreciate the good info. Thanks Kerry,

Yep, I think as far as GE is concerned it is still an ES44AC. Typically most people think it is proper to refer to them as the model number that the road which owns the unit does. In an example, such as when UP calls their new units the C45AH. By referring to them that way, you know exactly what locomotive it is and what it should feature in terms of specifications, such as heavier trucks. Great photo!
