@ Mike, thanks for your comment. Helper Link is indeed used on the Chaska Hill Helper jobs, and the equipment can be seen on the end walkway of the locomotive above the coupler. When trains are pulling up the mountain grades here, sand is essential to coat the rails for added traction. Machines against mountains--a battle that takes place every time a heavy train travels this through this region.
