Very interesting back-story and photo of this abandoned platform. It's somewhat remarkable that no one has made off with those Brooklyn Bridge moldings after all these years:)

A fantastic image and an equally captivating caption to go with it. That comment alone, however will not suffice. I really -really- enjoy viewing well captured historic /nostalgic images of of this genre and this one is among the finest of examples. And one that compliments very well the series of NYC subway images you've captured. Sign me up for the first book and reserved a copy of Volume II!

Thanks, Dennis, for allowing me to transport through my computer screen and enter New York City at the Chambers Street Station. This is my first time to the Big Apple. I hope to come back more often.
