A great photo of one of my favorite steam locomotives. Very cool that it could be posed by itself, as if it were under its own power (Fire Up 2156, anyone?); I'm glad that time was taken during the move to make this photo possible. Thanks again, NS.

OK. Enough. Restore her!! This is too much a tease! Such a beautiful looking engine - it's great that it can finally be "seen" from it's dark shadowed location sandwiched between other engines at it's former home on display at the St. Louis Transportation Museum - though, due credit to the Museum for recently holding a photo shoot and moving the engines around so that they could not only be photographed, but fully appreciated. Great shot, Casey! Looks like you lucked out on the light. Does anyone else think this looks like a clip from a train simulator program? Thanks, too, NS!

As Wick Moorman suggested ought to happen a few years ago--thanks! N&W 2156, the hardest-pulling extant steam locomotive, is more than any other the locomotive I'd like to see restored to running condition. This posed picture is nice, but let the next one show the rods attached and steam coming out of all the appropriate places! Two years and three million dollars ought to cover it, right?

That would be cool if N&W 1218, N&W 2156, and N&W 2050 would be restored but, only a dream.

With the Union Pacific restoring their Big Boy, maybe the NS should consider restoring their Y6a? A beautiful locomotive.

I too thought - ok, now RP accepts screenshots from train simulators... What a nice soft light. Fire up 2156!

You know what they say about borrowing something - make sure you give it back in better condition than when you borrowed it. In this case, make sure #2156 is restored and can take herself back to her original museum (under steam)!
