It's pictures like these that amaze me...how an long train filled with vehicles can ride two rails and endless crossties to navigate terrain like this and arrive intact at its destination. What simultaneous marvels in engineering - civil, mechanical, electrical, metallurgical and even chemical.

I agree with Kurt Wayne; sometimes a photo jolts me with recognition - how those fragile strips of steel hold up under the stress of the endless pounding wheels. Look for the rails sagging under the weight of each truck assembly when seen from a near head-on angle. Great composition.
