Really cool, that you get to see 745 in your area too. The 745 is something we listen for here on a daily basis.

Jonathan, I am 62 years old and grew up in Claremont. I have been inside the depot before and remember when it was still in use. The depot sat at the intersection of S. Depot St. and the main Spencer to Asheville line where it is apparent this shack is not setting. I'm not sure how old you are but you might want to consult with a Senior citizen and let them show you where the old depot set.

This is the intersection of S. Depot St and the NS Spencer to Asheville S-line where this photo was taken. The hardware store use to sit in the back ground before it burnt down. Everything looks different with that building gone. After the depot was razed, this shack was built back at that location.

This is a great shot! One of my favorite locations (as you know! ha ha!). I remember meeting the daughter of the last station agent standing here at this spot, waiting for a train, and her telling me some wonderful stories about the depot sitting right here. It's funny how different the whole South Depot Street area looks now that Claremont Hardware is gone. Found a neat photo of the depot sitting right where you're standing! http://www.pwrr.org/nstation/claremont.html
