Either we are in the beginning or a deep recession or the railroads are loosing market share at a rate never known before.

Nice photo, Trey. Times when locos sit together like this are tough on railroading. We the rail fans hope for the best, yet uncertain in these times. Seeing so much in storage gives us doubt.

Or their lease periods are coming to an end and they have been removed from service in preparation for return to lessor.

Thanks for the comments xBNSFer. I am continually learning due to all the great rail fans that teach me. Thanks for the comments that puts a whole new insight into Trains, my FAVORITE sport.

Luckily these units only sit during a large economic recession as do each winter season. Newer power takes over doing what these units once did on a daily basis. I'm aware that other Class-1's have new power in storage but we all know, it won't last for long. These SD70's and Dash-9's seen here will return to active service in early to late spring.
