Love everything about that photo. What is the saying, no pain, no gain. I was around there in the fall, no trains but talked to several locals where they interchange and learned about the large town and camps that were there at one time. Seems they also mentioned that Mosby (or?) hid out in that area until he was pardoned.

Re Robert Jordan's comment on Mosby hiding out in the area. Not likely. He disbanded his unit in May 1865 and by late June was running ads in the Loudoun County Va. newspaper advertising his law practice.

Wow, what a shot. I know this shot will become a cherished shot in your collection if the railroad is shuttered for good. Even without the historic need given the line's pending demise this is a great shot standing all on its own.
