I've been enjoying your series on the Carrizo Gorge Railway. It's kind of a time-stands-still scenario. I imagine all the equipment here is stored/dumped, mostly not likely to see use again?

Thanks Dennis. Stu - If you take a look at the caption of photo 570981, that gives you an idea of what is going on out here. Much of the rolling stock on the Desert Line is not actually owned by the PIR, rather they are owned by different predecessors in interest such as the East County Dirt Company, the Carrizo Gorge Railway and the San Diego and Arizona Railroad. These asserts can be found in Jacumba, Carrizo Gorge Siding, Dubbers Spur and down in Campo. It is really a rather interesting story that contiunes to play out, but yes, I think these engines are doomed and will be stripped within a year where they are sitting. Eventually, they will look like the UP GP-38 in Jacumba Photo #525507.
