Although things are somewhat up-in-the-air at the moment, the Museum of the American Railroad in Texas was/is trying to acquire HR-412 #76 as an engine donor for their Alco PA project. The project's Facebook page has said that donations are still being accepted and that A&M is still willing to work with the museum, but they have been vague about how long the purchase-option period has been extended past the original deadline (which expired in February). More info can be seen on the project's website: www.pa59.org

I wish one of the BRC C425s had been donated to the Illinois Railway Museum.

The 605 is still in superb external shape, not much different compared to my last encounter with it in The Pas, MB in May 2000. See here: http://alcoworld.railfan.net/hbrypic2.htm I had the pleasure to ride behind BRC 604 on the Lynn Lake mixed.

Just read on the Trains Magazine News Wire the other day that BRC 605 has recently moved to Texas, where it has joined the roster of the Austin & Texas Central Railroad (known for its operating RSD15).
