Interesting shot. It's rare that you get to say "NS Alcos". The units still say NW, but NS was around at that point.

Nice capture and thanks for posting. #43's mates, #42, 40 & 41 were sent to the Chesapeake Western. However #40 & 41 were renumbered and lettered as #10 & #11 respectively for the CW. #42 was never changed and wore its NW livery the entire time while on the CW.

MARailfan, we actually see that every day, I was there a few weeks ago and the conductors in the Barney yard were riding the top.
