Looking at map and seeing about a mile away, to the SSE, a place called "The Dr. Who Experience". That would be fun to take a train to see, but I'm not finding a direct rail connection from Kansas City to Cardiff.

Actually you can....we had just come back from there via train and spent the rest of the day shooting trains from the station. If you are a Doctor Who Fan it is highly recommended.
