Is the cheap seat a barber chair? For wear and tear I don't think they will last as they look uncomfortable. And if the engineer is to be alert at all times why the neck rest?

If you work or Amtrak as an engineer making trips along the NEC in a Cities Sprinter - is it considered a "desk job"? Lol. I've always wondered why cab interiors are relatively stark and void of protective cushioning like a dash board. Can't make out whether or not there are seat belts? Nicely captured, Emily - thanks for the view!

Nice picture. Interesting how the project was well suited to American standards, including the installation of a display to assist the engineer. Although I do not understand the reasons for not adopting the mono driving. Trains have several anti-collision systems including security systems, thus making superfluous the use of seat belts.
