Saw and worked (out of Spokane, WA) on quite a few back then. Loved them compared with the usual alternatives, POS SD40-2s.

Is it just me, or did this order of Dash 9-44CW's have some of the best paint jobs, as far as not fading, compared to much newer units. I see them around Portland, Or and their paint still looks good.

Could be better paint jobs, or maybe it's just that they spent so much time in the cloudy rainy Pacific Northwest, as opposed to the blistering Desert Southwest. But I agree those H1 paint jobs did seem to hold up much better.
