This is actually abandoned I believe. NS still uses the section from Rock Hill yard to Catawba, but it has been a while since this section saw a train.

what a great place to take a hike. I remember a scoutmaster who always would take us on the most incredible hikes. Never the same place, and he knew the miles walked, amd everything so we could count the hikes towards various goals in the progression thru the ranks. I miss that.

It is not abandoned. It is being kept in place for the neat by nuclear plant in case they need large shipments in and out. A lot of work would need to be done to ot, obviously
