So the question now is - what was there during No. 11's absence? Why was it moved in the first place? Or, is the display platform relatively new? And for those out of the loop - can you detail your statement about "placing a turntable"? Nice shot - thanks for sharing!

KRM installed a new turntable on their property and utilized the mobile crane that was on-site (for the turntable installation) to put #11 back in place. I don't know why it was removed.

Mitch, previously a large sign running the length of the raised platform occupied the space. It was getting several rotted spots after being up for years. We removed that and built the panel of meter gage track for #11 to take its place. It should be more eye catching than a simple sign I would think, especially once it's repainted. The turntable the museum recently had installed came from the Big Four yard on the waterfront in Louisville Ky. The museum saved it back when interstate constructions had all of those rail yards getting pulled. It's sat around and moved around with the museum for years, but they've finally hand the means, monies, etc. to get a pit constructed, the table installed and a spur run to it. The hope is eventually it serves a several stall roundhouse.
