Great to see that the SD40-2 is still popular among class 1 railroads such as Norfolk Southern.

I noticed this picture was taken in 2013. Are these engine still being used regularly in mainline service, and what about the C40-8's? Are those units going to be saved at all?

Christian the SD40-2 are all in service. Now the C40-8 are retired and sent off to scrap.

From what I know the C40-8 program never took off on a good note, that's probably why their only 3 or 4 of the Dash 8.5 running around
