Amtrak will discontinue this routing of the Coast Starlight after the fall of 2017 and it will be freight only. Hard to believe part of the most scenic trip they are planning to omit, and its really pretty to. Figger this one out and then tell me why freight trains get to see the beauty but paying passengers don't deserve a majestic view of part of the USA. Cool photo. Thanks Joel.
