Was the "special" known for moving perishables? I notice the vans appear to be reefer units.

It was. They are. Dedicated climate-controlled TOFC moving Florida fresh fruit and vegetables to the Northeast, the service was initiated by Seaboard in 1982. I believe it originally terminated in Delaware, but was later extended to Kearny, NJ.

An identical Seaboard System trailer was parked behind a local Target store where I live for years. It's neat to see some back in their heyday.
