Never strange, but appropriate. Southern Pacific was in the process upgrading their Motive/Diesel power. They had put if off for years, and it was time to play catch up. An absolutely stunning photo of new G.E. power for the S.P. Thanks for posting, Kevin.

Too bad they'd look this good only once, when new, as SP never took pride in their locomotive fleets appearance by running them thru the washrack !
