Your beautiful photo made me curious about this area. There is another picture of the building in the CT State Archives, which shows how large it is. The area has been bought by the town of Enfiled, in which Thimpsonville is a village, for incorporation into a new transportation center. The centerpiece may possibly be the new rail station for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield line. It is a fine idea to capture the flavor of these areas before they undergo their transformation. My town, North Haven, CT, is also due to get a new train station. All that is there is a derelict chemical company. BTW, the Westfield Plate Company is listed in at least one newspaper article as a former casket company. Thompsonville is named after the carpet mill started by Mr. Thompson, which produced until 1971.
