Look to the past when you want to see the future. Sweet shot, Tom - thanks for sharing these! Sad not one was saved, considering they hold the official high speed rail speed record of 170.8 mph, set back in 1967.

NYC's M-497 beat that at 183.681 mph a year earlier between Butler, IN and Stryker, OH on a test run. That was the Budd car with B36 bomber engines mounted to the roof.
