This may sound daft, but what is the track layout I am seeing here. If any of these locos drive towards the photographer, what stops them falling off the end? Do I assume correctly that the locos either go out through the building or is there a traverser out of shot to the left or right?

You are looking at the Bethlehem roundhouse, and, although I was never inside, I believe that the rightmost two stalls have an overhead travelling crane for heavy repairs. The turntable pit is to the right, and the turntable is aligned for one of the foreground tracks, so it is not visible in this photo.
