Even of more note is that the first RPO is a SANTA FE car ! I BELIEVE Santa Fe leased a FEW of these to the Pennsy around that time period as I recall seeing 1 or 2 ( might have been that same car ) on westbound long-distance Pennsy trains during that same time period.

Yes, the NH leased several RPOs from the Santa Fe in 1968 because their own heavyweight RPOs like the second car on the train were worn out. These leasers went back out west shortly after the PC took over on 1/1/69.
