Ther coupler arrangement looks really interesting - is this to accomodate two gauges? This locomotive seems to be on the broad gauge?

This locomotive its operated only on large gauge, yes. It´s have two couplers, one to large gauge and other to metric gauge, them according pulled freight cars.
