All grain operations in the area moved toward shuttle grain facilities like the one north of Alliance so this facility is no longer viable. As far as I know the grounds the elevator is on has been owned by BNSF for quite some time for future capital projects that would involve rebuilding the wye and the bridge over HWY 2. The projects around Alliance were tabled years ago when the future of coal became uncertain. The C30-7s are parked waiting for a scrapper to dispose of them and to be honest I think they've been forgotten about. There was one C30-7s that was scrapped in that location but one the one you see wasn't. People have pillaged the number boards and other things out of them in the last 7 years that they've been parked there.
