Phil, I have a question. Did you do any editing in Post? This looks like a very crisp photo for being taken by what you describe as "1940's". :)

Yes, I do some editing in Light-room. I try to use good photography habits to produce a good negative to limit the amount of editing I do after scanning. Generally slight contrast or exposure edits. Some sharpening is required, but those old 4x5 negatives really shine in detail. Especially if fine grain film is used. Phil
