I don't remember ever seeing a BQ27-7 before. On Blomberg trucks no less!

The SCL/L&N bought 3 or 4 of these. I saw them in Portsmouth, VA several times in the 80's. These were purchased in expectation of the removal of the caboose from freight trains. The Q was for quarters cab to accommodate the conductor and rear brakeman. Never materialized. Now the conductor/brakeman and the engineer are the only two in the cab.

They actually bought ten of them in all. I can only imagine they were terrible for switching.
