Of the 7 steam locomotives that once operated on Mt. Washington, only 4 are left on the property, including 2,3,6 & 9. Alas, since 2009, only two (2 & 9) have been maintained in running condition. The line has been primarily diesel-powered since that time, although one steam trip has been operated at the beginning of each day during the tourist season. With the installation of new terminal facilities on the summit, the railroad is promising to add a second, daily steam trip in 2018. Here's hoping that folks will patronize those trips and perhaps convince the railroad to make that a permanent change going forward!

I hope so Kevin. This photo is form when I was about 10 years old with a little point and shoot. Now that I've gotten into more serious photography, I really want to make it back here and shoot some steam if I ever get the chance.
