There are two of these blue MassDOT F40s in Boston commuter service, 1056 and 1062. They were shopped and repainted a couple years ago for the seasonal Cape Flyer summer weekend service between Boston and Hyannis, which is a MassDOT-supported operation. They show up on those trains (along with MBTA-painted power) but they also wander all over the MBTA system.
