I remember watching the Rio Grande Zephyr stop here after Christmas 1972. What a scene! The station was jammed with passengers. The baggage wagon was loaded to the brim. When the eastbound RGZ arrived, it had three F units and steam generator converted from an ALCO PA B unit on the point. The consist included five dome cars and a diner, all remnants of the original California Zephyr. What a way to travel!
