Many thanks for the fine action shot! But I'm afraid your photo shows No. 2 of Landau No. 3 Colliery which was North British 27555/1955. As far as I know all ten 3B were rebuilt into 3BR and didn't have a Belpaire-boiler after that. Also look at that cab!

The engine of unsuperheated class 12A design never was owned by SAR. She was ordered by Findlay, Durham & Brodie Co. Ltd (Dealer), South Africa. Before she arrived at Landau No. 3 she worked at Blesbok Colliery Ltd. as their No. 3.
