Most likely former MoPac, their first couple of orders of SD40-2's (and pretty much ALL their other power) didn't have dynamic brakes

For sure. I loved the old MP. It was modern, clean and impressive. Also, everyone I met was very friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately the lack of dynamic brakes caused an early end to the careers of many of their units after UP got them.
