What are Dash 9s doing there!? They are the newest of all of that power and BNSF still uses their Dash 9s. Just doesn't make sense.

The 9W's might survive the new tier emissions standards rebuilding, which is my thinking as to why so many are there, the rest most likely will be sold or scrapped. Anyone have any info on this ?

Wow! To think of all the miles these "beasts" have traveled, and now they are facing an uncertain future! Looked at this site on Google Maps, and went to Satellite view, and there were only two rows of locomotives that were visible at the time, just a couple days ago this year (2019) - it's amazing that UP and other railroads are storing this many locomotives so quickly! I guess Hunter Harrison's "curse" is affecting everyone! Cut crews, management, and everybody deemed "not necessary" and then hire those you need back! Thank you Mr. Harrison for that "Precision Scheduled Railroading" model. The "Do more with less, to earn more money for the Corporate Management and leave the "field" employees hanging! Still an interesting and sad photo!

This photo however was taken in early 2017. The economy wasn't doing as well then as it is now. However the recent picture from North lake Illinois with all of the stored power there does show the result of Hunter Harrison's policies. As stated previously, it is just as expensive to store a locomotives than to run one. The only difference is no revenue is being generated by those locomotives.
