Photos of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend always pique my interest because as a student at Notre Dame in the late '60's I took the "vomit comet" to and from Chicago frequently. I think the "vomit" was a reference to students drinking too much, not to the roughness of the ride. Thanks for posting!

Great shot of so many things from the 70s, and those older interurban cars! The old houses put the train more in its time, making the people's fashions seem almost out of place!
