I DOUBT that it is a slug. Rather, both BN and Santa Fe had cabless freight "B" units. More likely it is one of them. Can't really tell w/o seeing the number.

The train is powered by EMD GP60M (rebuilt and now labeled a GP60M-3) No. 105 leading former Santa Fe EMD GP60B Nos. 337, 329, 344 and 338, followed by GP50 No. 3143. BNSF’s Chewelah Turn out of Spokane has included three or four GP60Bs in its locomotive consist for quite a few years now.
