Back in the 1960s, I had a westbound "double the hill" between Julien and Peosta. This meant some unusual manipulation of the interlocker levers at Peosta that controlled the ends of the siding. The crew brought the front half up and parked it on the main, then went around that half via the siding and down the hill to pull up the back half and park it on the siding, then reassembled the halves for departure. It caused about an hours delay. Luckily, there were no eastbounds between Peosta and Manchester that would have also been delayed.
