Could this be the car of a railfan?

Interesting photo Jackson - and to think that these ICs "WERE" a familiar occurrence many moons ago. As for that vehicle - that might be "stolen" (I'm only guessing) as it is often a common practice for "joy riders" who steal vehicles to drive around town long enough to lose interest, and then drive them into some remote location and "ditch" them - such as getting them mired down in a muddy, or swampy field. When they do get noticed and then it's time to recover them, it makes it more difficult on the Tow Truck operator to get the vehicle dislodged from its mired predicament, therefore causing further "joy" to the person(s) responsible for stealing it, because they are adding a bit of "attitude" to their deed of theft and a final "in your face!" to the authorities. An attitude of: "It was easy for us to steal, but we're gonna make it really difficult for you to get it back!" Again, I'm only guessing about it being stolen, but the type of car it is, and the fact that it's abandoned and stuck in a muddy field lends to that conclusion and guess!

That's not how you are supposed to treat your H-body car!

Maybe the driver decided to race a train to the crossing, and did so fast that he lost control of the car and ended up sliding off the road and into the mud.
