Nice photo and catch with the cab/coach of Train 30 and the Alco. I spent a lot of time roaming the Camak yard from ‘74-‘80 during my early teen and driving years. Those were great years. My dad owned the local grocery store, J & J, which was named for the first initials of my sister and my names.

Camak was a great place back then. Not exactly crawling with trains, but enough traffic to satisfy, especially with the mixeds, locals, runthrough coal power, Southern sneaking in from Warrenton, and Rachel's Cafe. Met Mr. Beckum there on my first visit, way back in 1978. Probably pretty grim at Camak these days compared to way-back-when.

When did Plant Harlee close? Was getting about 3 trains a week when it was a part of my territory in 1995.

Closed/shut-down in April 2015. The plant was named after former GP President Harlee Branch. I have always mistakenly called it Plant Harlee, thinking 'branch' referred to either the GARR Macon line or the CofG line from Milledgeville to the plant. My dad worked on the site during construction (he was there 1963-1965). We lived on Lake Sinclair 2-3 miles away and if I climbed a particular tulip poplar near our house, I could see the taller elements of the construction site over the lower pine trees. Nothing to see now, I guess.
