Brings back memories of living around Macon during those 1970s. And Albany, GA, brings to mind the Albany, NY, referred to in the 1754 Albany Plan of Union, and how our 8th grade American History teacher where I went in Macon pronounced Albany as "All-Benny". Also in my memories from there is how that even with the SCL and the Georgia RR around, I normally saw Southern Ry trains and low hood diesels looked a bit odd to me for the next decade or two.

They do have their own way of pronouncing things in south Georgia. Other weird ones were KAY-row (Cairo) and BEW-na Vista (Buena Vista). Glad the photo brought back good memories for you.
