The reason that when BN bought the ATSF was that BN was / is the king of heavy haul and the ATSF had the routs for and was the king of fast / light inter-model. With the exception of the ATSF management, it was pretty much a match made in heaven. I do wish that BN would have come up with a better, more original and descriptive name than BNSF. Also, the Cascade Green BN paint job was far better then the rolling pumpkin paint job they have now. It sure didn't fade as bad.
