For a "first time" losing your Commuter/Freight innocence, Ddrennen, you REALLY lucked out on this one. The railfan gods must have found it worthy to "bless" you with this encounter your first time out! Talk about sheer pure luck! One question, if I may - after getting this photo your first time out...did you go buy a lottery ticket? With your luck on this shot - I think I would have been tempted if I were you!

I believe the location is Willow Grove, Pa. That shot is near Upper Moreland High School, which is where I went to school and I walked both lines more times than I can count. The NS train is on the Trenton cut-off, formerly electrified, saw many a Penn Central GG1, E33, E44 there and rode what was then the Hatboro Local many times to Reading Terminal.
