Those GEEP's had some of the best sounding Leslie five whistles on the whole SCL......I remember when Leslie moved their operation from Lakehurst NJ. to Tampa.FL. when SCL/L&N re-equipped almost all their locomotives with the Leslie S5T whistle...…….My folks had retired to Venice Beach back in 1975 I remember taking my Dad down to the Venice,FL. depot to hear one of those big Leslie's his comment was he preferred the Milwaukee Road's 100A Nathan M5 to those new Leslies.....the Milwaukee had about half Leslie S5D's and half Nathan M5's on their fleet of FP7's 98ABC-105ABC back in the 50's and 60's...…….
