Those angled rectangular vanes in the letterboard area are a detail of interest; I can speculate on possibilities but do not actually know their purpose. They might have something to do with airflow, or with shielding the eyes of someone in cupola seat from marker lights so as to not interfere with night vision (but I'm not sure they are in line of sight when rider would lean out window. or they might be to keep light spill from glaring on wide cupola end windows). Or, could be for something else entirely.
