Lovely photo Georg. Thanks for the details. They still built great looking infrastructure in 1960s and I didn't know the portal was built then. The base tunnel just looks unimpressive to me and looks like it could just as well be a motorway underpass. A bit of a shame as it was a most impressive project with something like 5000 workers but alas no grand entrance and maybe only a small commemorative plaque somewhere recording it's opening.
