I love seeing these historical shots from the 10th Street overpass. There used to be so much freight car traffic here.

Forgot to mention the A&WP and WofA boxcars near the locomotive, and the yellow bay window cab just barely visible as it clears the signal near the new 6th Street overpass, allowing the signal to flip to green.

That's an accurate photo of what we used to take for granted. Add this cut of forest products to all the industrial traffic around Opelika at the time and you'd quickly be to 50+ cars of traffic. Today, other than a few loads of logs and scrap metal, all the traffic is long gone. Great photo, David
